|Ben E Johnston, RPT
Ben Johnston was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. He graduated from
West High School in 1966 and attended the Alaska Methodist University in Anchorage,
and University of Alaska Faribanks and Anchorage.
He moved to Homer in 1970 and became a jack-of-all-trades, working
various jobs from truck driving to engineering on a commercial fishing vessel.
Ben married, had a daughter, and in 1989 attended Emil Fries Piano Hospital and Training Center in
Vancouver, Washington, graduating with honors. Being a woodworker, metal smith, and having an
intense love of music, the piano tuning and repair training tied them all together for Ben.
In 1993 Ben and his family moved to Palmer, in the beautiful Matanuska Valley, where he resides
today with an ever growing piano business:

Ben has been tuning and repairing pianos for over 28 years, he is a registered tuner/technician with
the Piano Technicians Guild, grandfather to two busy young boys, and is a hobby beekeeper.
